Checking in a file uploads the file (presumably edited) back to its parent document and releases the lock that was set by checking the file out. Checked-in files are removed from the My recent items view.
Before you begin
To be able to check in files, you must have the access right to add files to the document.
To check in a file from the My recent items view:
In the Checked out list, click Check-in next to the name of the file that you want to check in. The Put file to document page appears.
Click Save to this version to check the file in to the active version of the document. Click Save to new version to check the file in as a new version of the active document.
The file uploads to Project Portal. If you did not select the Keep file locked after save option, the file lock is released, and the locked icon disappears at the end of the document's name in the document list.
To check in a file from the Documents view:
Click Save to this version to check the file in to the active version of the document. Click Save to new version to check the file in as a new version of the active document.
